Christmas Tree Hunting

Each year, one of my favorite days is Christmas Tree Hunting. I have been going with the Hoffmeyers for 10+ years and I love it! Since meeting Bryan, he has also joined us, however I don't think he has the same love for the day! Perhaps he would enjoy it more if it wasn't on a Sunday or he got cell coverage but he always enjoys it more once he has arrived, he always enjoys it more than the whining would make you believe he would. This year, he thought he would be saved and we could go to the local tree lot because his mom was coming...but when I asked her what she would like to do...she said it sounded like fun! Overall, I think everyone had a great day! We had great weather, delicious food, and an awesome time hanging out with friends...the best part, we got the best tree yet! AND Bryan picked it out and convinced me how great it was so now he is stuck! He has proved I need him to pick out the tree and help me to see how great it will look in our house.

We finally got lights on the tree today and the village put up. After lots of Christmas shopping yesterday, I am exhausted but getting close to being ready for the holidays! We have a couple of gifts left to buy, baking, Christmas cards to write out, presents to ship out to family, and lots to wrap but with next week off, I have no fear we will make it!

Baby Shower!

I have the best friends and family! My shower was Saturday, December 4th and my family out did themselves! We were in my sister, Kristi's newly finished basement and it was perfect! My sister, sister-in-law Erin, my mom, and Aunt Lori all made amazing food, came up with great games, and worked hard to make my shower perfect. Even my neices, Peyton and Lauren helped with the baking and made great chocolate oreo desserts. My mother-in-law, Cindy flew in from Indiana and it was a great afternoon! Then my friends all showed and everyone spoiled me and Zander rotten! They designed great onesies and I even had a song and dance with one of my gifts!

The onesies turned out great! Bryan cam to the shower to watch some football, say hi to friends, and so we could head straight to Boulder for some Christmas shopping with Cindy when we were done. We forced him to come down to the shower and judge the onsies when we finished. Here were just a few of the great onesies done!

My favorite was Courtney and Casey's that said "I'm Dirty Daddy's Turn" but not the one Bryan picked! Surprisingly, he did not go for the baseball themed ones either and instead chose Rizzo's strickly on all of her artistic talent!

Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better day and can't wait for Zander to meet everyone!

Where Does the Time Go?

WOW! December?!?!? I'm not sure where the time is going but its going fast! I have been coaching Volleyball at school...practice at 6:30am and games two nights a week! Having a great time with the girls but....exhausted! Zander is doing great, moving lots and keeping me up at night but I'm sure that's just to get us ready for when he arrives! We have had all sort of exciting things since I last posted a blog....

Two weeks ago, we went back to Indiana for Nick and Emilee's wedding! They got married Friday night of Veteran's weekend and we had the opportunity to catch up with lots of people. It was great to hang out with family and friends and we wish Nick and Emilee the best of luck! Nick headed back to class in Biloxi for a few months and Emilee is planning to join him after Christmas! This spring, they will be moving to Washington and we are looking forward for an excuse to visit them outside of Seattle!

Last week for Thanksgiving, we spent time with family in town and caught up with friends we haven't hung out with for awhile. It was great to hang out with family on Thanksgiving Day! We ate all sorts of delicious food, watched football, and made plans to shop for Black Friday! Afterwards we headed to Casey and Rob's for yet more dessert, went bowling on Friday night, and had a great dinner with Kari and Corey on Saturday night. The weekend flew by, but it was awesome to see everyone.

We also had our 28 week check up last week! Everything looks great and all my tests came back looking good. It worries me everytime the doctor says, "he is measuring a little big but everything looks good!" It keeps reminding me that being induced a week early might not be all that bad.

In addition to all of these activities, we have been working hard on the nursery! We are getting close and having a great time along the way!

This weekend is my shower! Erin, Kristi, Mom, and Aunt Lori have been working very hard to prepare some great food and maybe even planning a game or two. I agreed to games as long as it did not include measuring my ever growing belly! In addition, Cindy is flying in for the weekend and we are looking forward to hanging out with her...doing some shopping and just enjoying the visit!

Can't wait to enjoy all the great food and hang out with friends and family for the shower! Then on Sunday is Tree Hunting at Red Feather...not Bryan's favorite day of the year but I can't wait to pick out our tree and put it up!
